55. Have a Homemade Spa day, take a bubble bath, make clay masks and finally do the cucumber thing in my eyes like the movies
I have an awesome husband. Seriously, he rocks, and he actively encouraged me to check off #55 from my list. He offered to watch LP while I hung out in my bubble bath, and put cucumbers on my eyes. Heck, he even got the bath ready.
I've never been a bath person, (it always feels to me like you're sitting on your own dirt, am I the only one?) but since LP was born my relationship to baths, and showers in general, has shifted. No longer a functional chore I need to get through in order to feel clean and refreshed, I now crave that time that I can be by myself with water pouring down my back, without a child sticking her adorable hand into my mouth or needing another rendition of the itsy bitsy spider. During regular weekdays I take 3 minute showers, in-soap-rinse-out, while LP plays on her over-the-door bouncer on the bathroom door. Sometimes, if she's in a good mood and relaxed, I can even wash my hair.
So yes, bring on the bubble bath. I got a big pack of lavender bubbles for my last birthday that needed to be used, anyway. I have a horrible sense of smell, I can't really tell lavender apart from the next smell, but I hear it's relaxing, and so it was.
Of course, I'm still the same dork as ever, so I relaxed in my bath while listening to NPR (This American Life, to be precise). Can't think of a better way to spend an evening. Thanks Nate!
