LP has been obsessed with Curious George lately. Which is fine, because it's a wonderful slow paced show that encourages curiosity and critical thinking. And all the characters are just so measured and likable!
So it made sense to throw her a Curious George themed birthday. She was super excited about it, and loved all the red and yellow balloons. We had a small party, just a few friends and their kids, 9 kids total including little siblings.

▲▲ Main display table. We ended up getting one CG party kit, which included a banner, table cloth, cups and plates. The rest we just tried to keep in the red and YELLOW theme
▲▲ Man in the Yellow hat cup/plates. These are just regular yellow party cups and medium sized plates, decorated with black electrical tape. And yes, they were used for cake and drinks

▲▲ The smaller kid table, where the lil' ones could get their juice, cups and napkins at their own height. We just used LPs lego table, and used what was left of the over-sized main table cover
▲▲ The one item not on theme. We went to the piñata shop in East Austin, and LP was sooooo so so so excited about getting a Cars piñata, that we just had to get it. It is HER birthday, after all, no matter how excited I got about the theme. And we filled the piñata with all sorts of treats, like bouncy balls, bubbles, crazy straws, glowing bracelets and little plastic animals. She doesn't like candy yet, so why introduce it before she's ready?
▲▲ Main kid activity. We got a bunch of small pumpkins for the kids to paint. It was pretty fun, though most of them didn't take it home, so it didn't work out as a party favor quite the way I intended. We kept them as Halloween decorations though, so all was good. And the table is actually a full sized camping/picnic table, that because of the way it folded, could actually be used as a kid height table.
